| Date of birth: |
March 1st, 2004 | ||
| Place of origin: | Pond Inlet - Nunavut, Canada | ||
| Family: | Melted | ||
We found Sunny sitting by a lake, trapped in the thawing snow, surrounded by the watery remains of his melted friends. He was very sad and scared and couldn't stop sobbing. We took him into our orphanages' cold room and nursed him back to health with popcicles and ice cubes. Later, he told us that he and his friends simply wanted to go out and play in the sun - something they used to do all the time. But due to warmer conditions, Sunny was the only one who survived the afternoon heat that day. |

| Hobbies: | Sunny tells us he's wanted to be an astronomer since the day he was born. He loves to come up with fun science experiments and read about the universe's many mysteries. |
| Like and dislikes: | True to his name, Sunny enjoys outdoor activities, especially on a sunny day. He loves the color of the sun and adores building toy rockets and space shuttle models. (Although he doesn't like it when the model glue sticks to his snow.) An excellent goalie, he loves hockey and having children playing around him. But he dislikes their little dogs peeing on him. Naturally. |
| Special skills: | Ice sculpture. Sunny fashioned a mockup of the entire solar system in our orphanage’s front yard complete with Pluto's eccentric orbit! Truly a must see! |
| Dreams and goals: | To pilot a space shuttle on an excursion around the solar system and see the sun and planets. |
Orphanage notes: |
Despite sadness in his past, Sunny always wears a smile. Full of life, his natural charm makes him a favorite with children. He dreams of being able to do the things human children can do, and longs for a return of those cold, crisp days where the sun is bright and beautiful but isn't a threat to his survival. Sunny would make a great addition to any family with children, and be a loving and caring friend. |
