Bilou was found under a drunken spruce tree on Sarichef Island, Alaska. He approached us as as we were documenting the harsh effects of climate change on the island, and asked if we had seen any safer and colder places on our way. With his home eroding away so quickly, he was visibly worried about his survival. Although we sensed he was reluctant to leave his birthplace, Bilou was very responsive to our orphanage offer. |

| Hobbies: | All we can say is Bilou has taken the simple game of hide and seek to new heights. He's also quickly becoming a world class pastry chef! |
| Like and dislikes: | Bilou loves candies and sweets, strawberry sweets especially. He spits out anything licorice flavored. He doesn't much like afternoon nap time but is nice and obedient about it. |
| Special skills: | Besides making wonderful desserts, Bilou is incredibly imaginative and excels at charades. He was team leader and won first place in this year’s orphanage charade championship. |
| Dreams and goals: | A snowy ice garden for all snowmen to play in - that and to be the first snowman to host a TV cooking show. |

Bilou is a kind and ambitous snowman. His family lived on Sarichef Island for more than 800 years and he is full of exciting stories and fascinating lore handed down through generations. We believe Bilou would be a great and loyal friend to his adopting parents and family. |
